Keith Graves set to Open Africa Academy

Keith Graves Jr will open a free youth academy in Gabon next year, its latest move to to helping student athletes outside of the united states.

The Gabon academy will be based in Libreville, Gabon and the goal is to help kids get better and get free exposure and a opportunity at the pro level or states level.

Coach Keith aims to open the Charity academy in August. "We are moving full force ahead and are really excited by the progress we've made and i will continue my duties in Hong Kong until futher notice," Keith told the ASIA News.

The Keith Graves Charity foundation academy in Gabon will focus on both youth and elite talent development, said Keith Graves and we will also give free training and lots of gear the kids. The goal is by year two to have several traveling youth teams and a National team that travels to the states twice a year. All coaches in the academy will have a USA Gold or International License and FIBA Certificate.

There are so many great student athletes overseas that just don't get any type of exposure and they give up.

Keith Graves Making History in Hong Kong

On Saturday , Coach Keith Won it's 10th Championship . It was no shock that he would also receive the coach of the year awards for ages 14u girls & Boys and 16u girls and boys .Coach Keith has definitely proven the coach he is by beating top 4 rank teams by 42, 61, 39 & 31.

Keith said in addition to winning the championship, he has been contacting several prep schools and colleges trying to send student athletes that are ready. Most kids are not stronger than kids in the US but what i can say is they are very fast in China and Hong Kong.

It was somewhat difficult for the teams as they were in 7th & 8th place before coach Keith arrived and he immediately added a uptempo style of play. Most teams play zone here and when i realize that i just knew if i could speed the tempo up and press for 40 mins that i would have a chance to win " Keith said.

This is my first year being in Hong Kong as a coach so before i got here i arrived i contacted two professional players such as O'Darien Bassett who played for team Eastern last year and Former NBA player Donnell Harvey who helped me. The first thing they told me was to change the tempo " Coach Keith Said. Keith is currently 18-1 since arriving to Hong Kong. Next year will be very difficult do to our best players going to Montverde, IMG & DME academy but i guarantee you that we will be ready and we will press for 40 mins " Keith said.
